Designed to test the seals and casing of watches, it is an affordable option for verifying water resistance up to 6 ATM. While some watches are rated for higher pressures, testers exceeding this rating can be significantly more expensive. Based on our experience, this tester is effective for determining the water-tightness of the vast majority of watches.

How to Use the Pressure Tester:

1. Prepare the Cylinder: Fill the cylinder with distilled water up to the indicated level to avoid lime deposits.
2. Place the Watch: Attach the watch(es) to the internal hook.
3. Secure the Lid: Replace the lid and screw it down tightly using the two tensioning nuts on the top.
4. Increase Pressure: Use the lever to raise the pressure to 3 atmospheres (as per the Swiss watch industry standard), then wait for 3 minutes to allow air to enter the watch. Increase the pressure by cranking the handle a few more times if necessary.
5. Immerse and Observe: Immerse the watch into the water and immediately release the air pressure by pressing the knob. Watch for small air bubbles escaping from the case, indicating a seal failure. If bubbles are observed, lift the watch out of the water and address the issue, such as replacing the seal.

Preparation Before Testing:

• Inspect for Obvious Issues: Check for chipped crystals, faulty crowns, cracked cases, or loose backs.
• Check for Water Damage: Look for signs of previous water damage, indicating a problem.
• Change the Battery: If testing a battery-operated watch, replace the battery prior to testing to avoid repeated tests.
